So your new shirt has arrived…

You’ve opened the package and immediately put on your new duds. You went for a hike or maybe a bike ride, wore it around for at least four days and now you’ve decided it needs a wash.

Since I print using only water based, eco friendly inks, all of the prints will fade a tiny bit after the first wash. This is totally normal! The ink is just absorbing more into the fabric and becoming even softer. However, there are some things you can do to help your shirt stay fresh!

Wait at least one week before washing your shirt after it arrives. Wear it around during that time as many days as you like, but when the smell or salsa stains become too much, it’s time for a wash. While the ink is permanent and “set” this extra time helps cure the ink even more.

Wash your shirt on cold (gentle cycle if you have it) inside out. I also recommend not using a heavy duty detergent. This is how I’ve always washed mine.

If you want your shirt to stay the brightest possible, you can hand wash it. This shows commitment, but isn’t really necessary.

I hope that helps! Enjoy your new shirt and your adventures it accompanies you on. Tag your pictures on Instagram and share with @lostcanyonpress!
